Getting the most from your design & from your designer

Failing to plan, is planning to fail!

  1. Think about what you want. Ask yourself the following:

What is the main focus of the flyer/advert?

What is the desired outcome from the flyer/advert?

    Who is the target audience?

Where is the flyer/advert being distributed/shown? Think about medium/venue, location & positioning.

What is the lifespan of the flyer/advert?

  2. Set a clear brief for the designer including the above information. Describe any ideas you may already have. State what you like and don’t like. Make your deadlines clear.
  3. Supply any images you would like to have included in your design – make sure they are at least 300dpi for printed output. Make sure you have sought the appropriate permissions/rights for the images you are supplying.
  4. Supply any logos and branding information for your business.
  5. Supply copy. Make sure this is complete and has been checked for errors.
